ORDERING
Placing an Order Online
Equita aims to bring you an enjoyable shopping experience by making your ordering process easy and efficient. ShopEquita.com is hosted by Yahoo!, which uses SSL, the industry's preferred encryption SSL technology. SSL protects data transmissions by encrypting (scrambling) your personal information before sending it over the internet. Yahoo! is reliable and trusted in keeping your personal information private and secure.
Placing an over the phone
Place your order over the phone by calling the Equita Pittsburgh shop at (412) 353-0109. Customer Service is available Monday through Friday 11a.m. to 6 p.m. (EST).
For your convenience, shopequita.com accepts the following methods of payment: Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. For additional security, we require your billing address and the security code on your credit card.
Sales Tax
The Federal Government requires that Equita collect tax for items shipped within the state of Pennsylvania. Sales tax is added automatically during the check out process.
Order Confirmation
You will receive a confirmation number for your order after finalizing your purchase as well as a confirmation email.
Price Differences
Equita makes every attempt to have consistent pricing throughout our webshop and brick-and-mortar location. Occasionally we offer special prices that are exclusive to our webshop or brick-and-mortar location. NOTE: Equita is not responsible for errors in pricing due to problems outside of our control such as a system malfunction.
Product Availability/Backorders
Equita aims to have products in-stock and ready to ship. However, being that our products are hand-crafted by an international network of gifted artisans and designers, quantities may be limited. If an item is backordered, you will either be informed at the time you add it to your shopping bag or prior to our processing your transaction. Equita Gift Certificates allow you to share your ethics while giving to those hard-to-shop-for loved ones. As a convenience, Equita Gift Certificates are available for purchase in our Webshop and are delivered to your recipient via first-class mail within 5-7 business days. We will package your Gift Certificate, include your personal message and ship it to your recipient free of charge. If you would like to expedite the shipping of your Gift Certificate, you may upgrade for a fee or choose to send it by email. Gift certificates are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase; all portions must be used before that time. Gift certificates act as valid payment for all items available at Equita’s Webshop, but are not redeemable for cash or future gift certificates. When paying with an equita gift certificate, any unused balance will be applied to future purchases made within the expiration date. If your order amount exceeds the amount of your gift certificate, the balance can be paid with a credit card. Note: Gift certificates cannot be combined with promotional offers or discount codes.
NOTE: Equita is not responsible for any theft or loss due to delivery or electronic transfer of gift certificates. Some email filters prevent messages from unknown addresses. If you request that a gift certficate be sent electronically, make sure that giftcards [at] shopequita [dot] com is saved in the address book to ensure deliverability.
Gift Wrap
Equita offers gift wrap services for most items for an additional fee of $5. We use handmade ethical gift bags or recycled kraft paper with raffia ribbon. A gift card with personalized message is enclosed with all gift orders. NOTE: Products that are not eligible for gift wrap will be identified in the product description.
Equita promotional offers and discounts are accepted on most in-stock, full-priced merchandise and must be applied at the time of purchase. Unless specifically noted, promotions and coupon codes are not available for the Equita Outlet, sale merchandise or items noted to be excluded from promotional offers and discounts and cannot be applied retroactively to previous purchases. If a discount is applied to an item or purchase in error at time of checkout, Equita will adjust the price before processing the transaction. Coupon codes and discounts are limited to one use per transaction and cannot be combined with other offers. All discounts and promotional offers are limited to one use per customer. NOTE: equita does not offer price adjustments on merchandise purchased at full price that is later reduced in price.
SHIPPING
Shipping & Delivery Time
Most in-stock orders ship within 48-hours, Monday through Friday and arrive within 7-10 business days by UPS Ground or USPS Priority Service. Orders placed over the weekend will be processed on Monday mornings. We do not ship on holidays. Orders ship from our warehouse in Pittsburgh, unless otherwise noted. Some items are shipped directly from the manufacturer and may take longer for delivery. If you would like to expedite your order, we offer two-day and next-day service for most items, if order is made prior to 12 p.m. (EST). *Please note that delivery is not guaranteed due to events that are outside of Equita's control.

Ground Shipping Promotion: Orders over $100 ship for $5 via ground service. This promotion does not apply to expedited shipping methods. Surcharge still applies to orders shipping outside the continental US.
2-3 Day Air add $14.95. Next Day Air add $29.95. Expedited delivery is available to locations within the U.S. only. Order must be submitted and processed by 12 p.m. (EST).
NOTE: delivery time for expedited shipping is 2-3 day or next-day after the order is processed and merchandise leaves our warehouse. Expedited shipping is not available for special orders.
Non-Continental United States: An additional $14.95 surcharge will be added to orders shipping to AK, HI, Guam, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. We cannot ship to P.O. Boxes in AK, HI, Guam, Puerto Rico or the Virgin Islands. Expedited shipping is available on most items with deliveries outside of the continental U.S. for an additional fee. 2-3 Day Air add $24.95. Next Day Air add $39.95.
International Shipping: All shopEquita.com prices are quoted in U.S. dollars, and your credit card company will calculate the exchange automatically. Equita offers international shipping through U.S. Postal Service and UPS Worldwide. Our international shipping charges do not include any import fees, taxes, duties, brokerage, or any other charge applied by a third party. The customer is solely responsible for these and any other fees should they apply. Please email service [at] shopequita [dot] com for a price quote. Remember to list the items that you are interested in purchasing.
Packaging & Recycling Efforts: Equita is dedicated to conservation and environmental stewardship. We use materials that are enviro-friendly, re-used and recycled - from the fair trade, reusable gift bags and recycled Kraft paper wrapping to the re-used shipping boxes, Cradle to Cradle Certified USPS packaging, and other shipping materials.

Equita firmly stands behind the quality of our products. If you are not satisfied with your purchase, please let us know and we will be happy to assist you with an exchange or return.
Equita accepts exchanges or returns on regular-priced merchandise within 30 days from purchase. We will gladly accept items that are in "new" condition and have not been used, worn, laundered, or altered in any way and are accompanied by a copy of your packing slip or sales receipt. Equita Outlet and sale discounted items are final sale are not eligible return. Refunds will not be issued for gift certificates. NOTE: Footwear must include the designer box in its original condition and be free from signs of wear to be eligible for return/exchange. Equita does not accept returns or exchanges on final sale items, including but not limited to lingerie, food items, personal care products, gift certificates, special orders or items purchased usings store credit. Food items or personal care products cannot be returned unless merchandise is defective and claims are made within 48 hours of receipt. Merchandise that has been special-ordered or personalized cannot be returned unless the products are damaged or defective or there is a shipment error. These claims must be made within 48 hours from receipt of goods. Please be sure that your return is shipped using priority mail or a carrier that generates a tracking number and insurance. Refunds on shipping and handling are credited only when an item is incorrectly shipped or arrives defective or damaged. NOTE: Equita is not responsible for returns that are not received.
How and Where to Return
If you would like to exchange or return merchandise purchased from www.shopequita.com please follow these instructions. NOTE: items purchased online cannot be returned at Equita's retail shop in Pittsburgh. Purchases made at the Equita Pittsburgh shop must be returned at that location.

You are responsible for return postage. Please allow approximately 2-3 weeks for the processing of your return. Your issuing bank may take an additional billing cycle to apply the credit. Once your credit is processed, a copy of the credit memo will be mailed to your billing address.
