An adventurous spirit and a love for city neighborhoods are required to find equita. Off Butler Street; three blocks down lower Lawrenceville; almost by the riverside. The equita shop is nestled in the corner of a completely renovated historic ice factory that is now the workplace of renown artists, photographers, architects, designers and artisans.
Defying convention as an effort to carefully and respectfully showcase our products and the projects and people behind them, we decided to set up shop in the Ice House (a 2007 Cool Space Award recipient). Added bonus: feeding from the energy of creatives and their environment. This setting allows us to provide clients a uniquely intimate and relaxed shopping experience. We invite you to take your sweet time while you shop.

The shop design itself keeps the spirit of green, ethical living alive: bamboo floors; shelving made from reclaimed wood; old furniture reused for displays; recycled materials (beams, doors, wood) from Construction Junction recrafted into a dressing room and a counter top; low VOC paints; and the ultimate space partition made of paper.

equita is proud to offer a wide range of high quality and functional Fair Trade, organic and green products. Among the products on display: apparel and footwear; handbags and jewelry; organic body care; home furnishings and decor; bedding and bath; kitchen linens; baby apparel and accessories; and specialty gourmet treats. Presently, our products are sourced from over 40 countries, as well as a notable selection representing Native American enterprises, women's initiatives, family farms and unionized businesses in North America.
