As a locally-owned, independent, family-run company, the Equita Shop has the ability to serve the community directly. We work with local NGO's, schools and churches to raise awareness about issues that are close to our mission, especially those concerned with social, economic and environmental justice.
The Equita Shop is proud to be the recipient of the 2008 Best of Pittsburgh in the Fashion category, by PIttsburgh Magazine. The editors highlighted our attention to “cutting-edge designs that are eco-friendly and sweatshop-free, and geared toward fostering Fair Trade and sustainable employment in developing countries around the world.” We are humbled by the recognition and grateful to play a part in making ethical living accessible locally.
Equita is proud to offer a wide range of high quality and functional Fair Trade, organic and green products. Among the products available: clothing and footwear; handbags and jewelry; organic body care; furniture and home decor; bedding and bath; kitchen linens; baby clothing and accessories; crafts and gifts; and specialty gourmet treats. Presently, our products are sourced from over 40 countries, as well as a notable selection representing Native American enterprises, women's initiatives, family farms and unionized businesses in North America.
