Bolga Baskets
hbb4516
Handwoven using locally-grown straw, this beautiful basket is inherently sturdy, making it a reliable, multi-functional asset for the home. Some uses: magazines, toys, garden, farmers market.

Our Bolga baskets are produced by a Fair Trade weaving cooperative in rural, northern Ghana where basket weaving is the traditional handicraft. Founded in 1995, the co-op works to improve the standard of living for its weaver members, 90% of whom are women. Profits are reinvested in training workshops, and partner NGO's provide literacy and mathematics courses that benefit the weavers far beyond the sale of their baskets.
